How will this manual help me in my Home healthcare Business?

This manual will give you at your fingertips teaching that will help your nurses teach their patient information about their disease process. It will help your Company to bring unity to what your patients are taught. It will also help the RN in your company to increase their awareness on what other nursing DX that can use  in the home health setting. There is over 30 nursing diagnosis with there teaching found in this manual. All Nursing Diagnosis that genrate an increase in your clinical score, there by increasing your overall reimbursement are marked with a red $ sign. In summary, This manual will help with information to teach your patient, increase your medicare reimbursement and decrease Medicare rejected claims.

Oasis C 2010

The Oasis C will go into effect on January 1 2010. This doucment has increased in size. There are 105 M codes. The Oasis B-1 2008-2009 there was 76 MOcodes. That mades 29 more question that we have to answer.  It is very important to teach your nurses what is needed to complete this form. Oasis C——M0102

The  M0102  is a new question on the Oasis Form. This questions ask: Date of physician ordered Start of Care (ROC).

Answer : . This question is intended to be the date of the SOC/ROC specific by the physician.( eg. therapy only.)

 Example: If the physician order for a patient to be seen on June 15 and the patient is not available on that date, the date the patient wants to be seen is the SOC/ROC date. This date is place in M0102 if you get a new doctor’s order from the physician stating the service to began on the new date. If you do not get a new doctor’s order then you are to choose the second option in this area,which states NA- No specific SOC date ordered by the physician.

Oasis C 2010

On the new Oasis C there will me no more MO codes. There will be only M codes.
Q: What does the M0000 code mean?
A: The M = Medicare 0000=the 4 numbers that specific the Oasis item.

Oasis Comprehensive Assessment

Q: Who can perform the comprehensive assessment when OT services are the only ordered for a Medicare patient?

A: OT cannot perform the assessment of a eligibility for Medicare patients, but may conduct subsequent assessments of Medicare patients. Only the RN ot PT can conduct Comprehensive assessment for medicare patient.
